Perfect PDF 6 Multiuser Licenses
More Comfort for Installation and Activation!

In this newsletter issue, you get to know how soft Xpansion has simplified procedures of multiuser network installation and activation for its Perfect PDF 6 product family. This change also applies to Terminal Server and Citrix environment.

Server Side Activation and Installation

Firstly, client-side activation of the software may be done on a centralized basis now. This means that activation is performed on only one computer for all clients, namely on the server. It is no longer necessary to run through the activation procedure on each client (workstation) separately. With a multiuser license version, the system administrator may centrally manage the client setups up to the maximum amount included in the license. The activation is hardware-based, so the license key is tied to the serverīs hardware components, which makes it impossible to use the same license key on another computer at the same time.

The multiuser license is set up as a system service ("soft Xpansion Local Network License”) on the server (any Windows computer) by the system administrator. The status and settings of the service are monitored and changed in a web browser via http protocol.

Secondly, installation on the client computers may now also be run in the background, in a silent mode. This means that the client users do not see any installation windows and no reboot of their computers is necessary.

Trial Versions and Details

The soft Xpansion web site includes details about the various Perfect PDF 6 editions and about their functionality on the product page. Trial versions of the single user versions and a description on how the multiuser editions are set up may be downloaded there as well. A multiuser trial version for ten clients is available on request from the soft Xpansion sales department.
